IntroductionThis page lists the submissions to the PIRE challenge during the Amsterdam workshop 2014 program. This was the into provided to the students (note, I changed some rules, prize and mail address):
Prizes will be awarded for the groups that make the most advances against the questions posed by Cees de Laat in his talk on Monday 16 June, listed again below for convenience.
- There will be three prizes:
- First prize of $400
- Two second prizes of $300.
- Teams may submit achievements before 20:00 CST on Thursday 19 June to competitions@opensciencedatacloud.org
- Submissions must be in the form of a short (~2 page) paper describing what has been achieved.
- Also submit a short slidedeck of max 5 slides to support your pitch work in talk.
- On Friday morning in the first session teams/individuals are asked to pitch their work in max 5 minutes.
- Supplementary material (code, analysis, webpage) may be provided via

- A publicly accessible web location (such as github).
- A public snapshot on the Sullivan cloud labeled with a "PIRE_" prefix.
- The review and ranking will be by the organizers team chaired by Cees de Laat. Evaluation will be in the coffee break Friday morning.
- The decision of the team is final and we reserve the right to not award one or more of the prizes or restructure the prizes.
- Teams should contain people from at least two sites and may not contain individuals who are employed on the OSDC PIRE project.
- The submission should be a short definition of what has been achieved and references to the new results, data or algorithms available on the OSDC.
- The chair can add, delete and change any rule at any time :-) !
